In her work, Nora Hansen uses fantastical, speculative, and other figurative forms to explore the world as a densely layered medium. The resulting perspectives invite viewers to actively engage with their own narrative consciousness, the lens through which we experience and construct both ourselves and our surroundings.

Nora lives and works in Cologne, Germany. She studied at the Art Academy Düsseldorf under Rosemary Trockel and has received grants from the Ministry of Culture of Northrhine-Westphalia, the Kunststiftung NRW, and the City of Cologne. Her work has recently been presented at Mönchehaus Museum (Goslar, DE, 2026), Centre for Literature (Münster, DE, 2025), KW Institute for Contemporary Art (Berlin, DE, 2024) and Omstand – Space for Contemporary Art (Arnheim, NL, 2024). Further presentations include, amongst others, Sophiensæle (Berlin, DE, 2021), Neuer Aachener Kunstverein (Aachen, DE, 2020), Arp Museum Bahnhof Rolandseck (Remagen, DE, 2019), Lady Helen (London, UK, 2019) and Kunsthalle Düsseldorf (Düsseldorf, DE, 2015).
