I want to paint your name in the sky (myths of creation) (2023) forms the last act of the work yoko x nora (2015 – 2023) by Nora Hansen.
yoko x nora is a series of works that probes the merging and expansion of different levels of reality in performance, graphics, textile works, and installations. In an experimental long-duration performance, artist Nora Hansen experiences fictional adventures as and with the comic book heroine Yoko Tsuno brought to life as avatar and partner in a shared everyday life. The comic adventures of Yoko Tsuno, penned by author Roger Leloup, revolve around Yoko and her friendships and allies. As an electrical engineer and single mother with a family-like circle of friends, Yoko is a non-sexualized and multi-dimensional character who provides an alternative to the repetition of gender stereotypes in the world of comics and beyond.
I want to paint your name in the sky (myths of creation) (2023) was first published and performed at Poetics of Passing, 2023, Cologne, curated by Miriam Bettin.
